Over the weekend, we visited my family for our annual pre-Christmas get together. As many of my brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins and cousins’ children as possible get together for a meet up at my parents’ house in Lincolnshire. This year might be the last one we make for quite a while, because by next year we’ll hopefully be in Australia.
Christmas is coming. My sons are so excited, and so am I. I love Christmas – the decorations, the carols, the family time, the traditions, the food…everything that makes this festive time of the year so magical. I love giving and receiving presents, but I want my children to grow up knowing that Christmas isn’t just about presents and Santa.

We’re moving forward but there’s a lot of waiting between each stage. As each phase of paperwork gets submitted we’re preparing the paperwork for the next application so we can keep everything moving without any unnecessary delays. We should have more news around Christmas, so watch this space.
A sunny beach picture of Exmouth in Western Australia to warm you up on this cold morning.
To give you a more technical update (in case anyone else is thinking of migrating to Australia) here is a bit more detail about what we’ve been up to: Continue reading
My boys are big Tree Fu Tom fans and I was really excited to receive a pack of goodies to review* just before half term. I scurried them away and decided to wait until they were on holiday to show them the package, because I knew it would be the perfect antidote to boredom. I’m so pleased I did because then the chicken pox hit and we were trapped at home for the entire week.
